The current list of skills that can be learnt at a Circus Stars workshop are:
(Next to each skill is a smile rating J is easiest through to JJJJJ which is a lot harder)
Juggling (scarves and balls) JJJ
This is the classic circus skill. It encompasses many different skills, hand-eye co-ordination, timing, balance, patience and more. Once learnt, it’s a great way of relaxing and meeting new people!

Juggling (rings and clubs) JJJJJ
This takes the classic skill to a much higher level, although harder to learn it’s much more impressive to watch and feels great to do.
Diabolo JJ
Another classic, quick to learn with impressive tricks coming quickly. A favourite with all ages.
Poi JJ
Based on an ancient Maori tradition of wrist strengthening. It encourages a whole body work out with rhythm by spinning a ball 'on cord' / 'in a sock like material' held in the fingers around your body.
Devil Sticks (also known as flower sticks) JJJJ
One of the harder skills. Using 2 hand sticks to throw, spin and flip the middle ‘devil’ stick.

Spinning Plates J
A skill enjoyed by all. Easy to start with plenty of quick progression. A great teamwork skill; learning to pass it around / throw it to a friend
Small Stilts (for under 12's) J
These small monster feet elevate the student by about 15cm. Hand held, easy to step off, quick to learn. These are a great introduction to stilt walking and good for fun circus games.
Unicycles (best for over 12's) JJJJJ
A great fun mode of transport (though not very efficient) with time many tricks and styles can be learnt. Time and patience are a virtue for learning this skill but its well worth it!
Pedal-go's JJ
A great introduction to unicycling. These are fun to learn and great for circus games.

Hula Hoops JJ
A classic toy. It’s a skill where people feel they can either do it or they can’t, time to change that...

Staff JJJ
A new style of skill. The staffs is like a big twirling baton, being moved and spun around the body, also great for learning to balance props on palms, chins or noses!

Rolla Bolla JJJJ
Another balance prop. A great way to build the core muscles whilst having fun. it involves balancing on a piece of wood that is set upon a tube.
Peacock feathers J
A great prop for learning to balance on hands, feet chins and noses. can you balance more than one?
Tightrope JJJ
A great prop for learning to balance and to improve core strength. Once mastered, can you perform another skill whilst balancing?
Balloon Modelling JJJ
This is hard to teach to a big class, as you often get a 'POP' during each stage which makes the process take a while; however, they are great prizes or presents to leave with! Flowers, swords and dogs are the favourites.

Circus Games
After learning these new skills a range of games can be played, for example, who can balance the peacock feather the longest, team relays on pedal-go's or small stilts
a pedal-go relay race, using friends for support and balance, also encourages great teamwork.

Circus Performance
after a few workshops or a whole day workshop why not finish with a performance to show each other the new skills you have learnt. you could even invite parents along to watch.
