CIRCUS STARS
Circus Stars is owned and run by Wez Swain. Wez started his circus skills life by joining a circus class when he was 14 to complete his Duke of Edinburgh Award in 1994. Since then his passion for learning has increased and is now highly competent at many circus skills, and still finding new equipment to manipulate.
Between 2002 and 2006 Wez worked for PGL adventure, teaching outdoor pursuits. Wez would often pass on his circus skills to many of the staff and often run workshops for the guests. Each week before the departure of the guests, Wez would be seen entertaining the 100+ guests with a 30 minute circus skills show.
A decision was made to take teaching circus skills more seriously and 'One for the Kids' Juggling Co. was established in the spring of 2007. Since then Wez has worked with many youth groups to pass on his skills in various workshops, ranging from introductory sessions of 2 hours to whole weekend camps dedicated to circus skills, with a show by the students to finish off the weekend. All were highly successful and enjoyed by everyone.
During the spring of 2009 Wez realised that although ‘one for the kids’ meant something to him – his favourite juggling trick, a better name would help the progression of the company. In May 2009 the company was renamed
‘CIRCUS STARS’
In his 10 years of teaching circus skills, Wez has accumulated a mass of teaching experience with adults and children of all ages, abilities and nationalities.
